This week in GalleyCrush, we are thrilled to unveil the cover of Eloisa Amezcua’s second poetry collection, Fighting Is Like a Wife, which is forthcoming from Coffee House Press on April 12, 2022. “The first time I saw the final cover for Fighting Is Like A Wife, I was overwhelmed at how perfectly it captures the tone I’ve aimed for in the poems—haunting, reflective, distorted,” Amezcua told us. “The image is by Tony Salazar, a photographer from my hometown, Phoenix, and comes from a series he did of local boxing gyms. While the book isn’t ‘about’ me, it felt special to have a small piece of where I come from—of the place that made me—be a part of how this book will live in the world.”
